Bali Intimate Apparel
From LoveToKnow Lingerie
Since 1927, Bali intimate apparel has been trusted by women looking for a comfortable, supportive fit that was also attractive. Bali is one of the rare companies that continues to innovate even after decades of proven success.
History of Bali Intimate Apparel
By the mid-1920s, the flapper look was in full swing. 1920s women’s fashions were straight, loose and emphasized a boyish silhouette. This required corsets and other foundation garments that flattened the breasts and otherwise hid curves. Although clothes were more comfortable and sporty than women had ever enjoyed – Coco Chanel was a major innovator, designing both the classic “little black dress” and sportswear like the skirt and sweater set – the restrictive undergarments demanded by some fashions could be as painful as the whalebone corsets worn by the previous generation.
Seamstress Sara Stein, who worked for a company that made bras, decided to design a bra that would do the job but be more comfortable. Her husband Sam offered the bras to sell in shops. They were an instant hit. The company was first called Fay-Miss, but in 1935 changed its name to Bali.
A Commitment to Quality
Bali grew quickly and became popular because women found that a bra designed by a woman understood their real needs. All of Bali’s intimate apparel was created with support and comfort in mind. Styles changed over the decades, and Bali stayed ahead of the game, continually creating new pieces that were stylish, flattering and of a high quality.
Current Best Sellers
Bali makes a huge range of bras and panties, including shapewear. Some favorites include:
- Flower Bali Underwire. The Flower was introduced in the 1960s and still has a slightly retro look with seamed cups that come to a point. The cups are unlined and the bra features side stays for all-day support. The straps are fully adjustable and the subtle floral design adds prettiness to the practicality.
- Passion for Comfort Underwire. The Passion for Comfort line is a favorite thanks to the minimal padding and yet full coverage that makes these bras ideal for wearing under thin tops. The straps feature a light cushioning to protect your shoulders from discomfort.
- Passion for Comfort Minimizer. Bringing Bali back to its roots, the Minimizer is an attractive and comfortable bra for the larger busted woman who wants to play down her curves without compromising on beauty.
- Bali Concealers Underwire. Unless you actually want a peek-a-boo bra, chances are you want your daily bra to support your breasts but also maintain your modesty, especially at work. This bra is perfectly smooth for an even first layer and comes in a range of colors to match your skin tone.
- Satin Tracings Minimizer. A seamed bra with subtle detailing and cushioned shoulder straps. This is Bali’s best-selling minimizer.
- Double Support. For the woman who needs some extra support but doesn’t want to compromise on style or curves, this bra lifts and stretches so that it works with you, rather than forcing you into a position.
A Member of the Community
In spring 2007, Bali celebrated its 80th year of innovation and excitement by launching the “Live Beautifully” campaign, promoting women’s true beauty in every aspect of their lives. But the company is not just about great bras. Its concern for women’s breast health extends to inner health as well, and Bali has partnered with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to assist in prevention and the search for a cure. Bali knows that a big part of living beautifully is living healthfully.
Available Everywhere
There’s no point in making great bras and panties if they are hard to find. Fortunately, Bali intimate apparel can be found in nearly every shop that sells better lingerie, as well as online. They are bras you can rely on, each and every time.
