Chemises
From LoveToKnow Lingerie
Chemises are the quickest, easiest way to look sexy in the bedroom (or even out of it). They're flattering to all body types, from the boyish figured girls who wish they had curves, to the women who'd gladly give up a few bumps and curves for a bit more definition. The beauty of chemises is their ability to cling to the good curves, and ignore the bad. It's all in the type of style you get.
You're Going to Look Hot
Babydolls are quite similar to the most common type of chemises. They all have somewhat fitted tops and skirt bottoms. Chemises, however, don't seem to have a set of rules to follow. The skirt can be fitted, in some cases. In other designs, the skirt is much more flared. In other searches, you may find directions on how to make a shirt, slip or nightgown.
Chemises aren't just for sleepwear anymore, so you can look good in chemises and let everyone know about it. Check out this one from The American Apparel Store. It's constructed like a tunic camisole and can be worn as a tank or a mini-dress. For a "now" fashion trend, try pairing it with leggings and big earrings for a 1980s feel.
What Is This Not-So-Modern Miracle?
Not created yesterday by any means, the chemises have been around since at least the Middle Ages. They were designed for wear under the dresses and robes--not just as sleep clothes. Believe it or not, these weren't even designed with just the females in mind; men wore them, too. They were designed to keep oils and sweat off of the actual clothing.
While the poor and rich all wore them, the designs were widely different. The peasants designed their own simple chemises made of thin material--and not a lot of it. The upper class had extravagant chemises made.
Fashion evolution has taken this one design with a simple purpose and turned it into slips, nightgowns, shirts and dresses.
Different Materials for Different Looks
Mesh--Playful and seductive, this is great for adding a spark to a relationship. It's not the most romantic choice of them all, but sometimes old-fashioned romance isn't the idea you have in mind.
Satin--Your lover won't be able to keep their hands off of you because silk feels so good next to the skin.
Lace--Here's a pick for a romantic night when you want to play up your girly side. There's also the benefit of the peek-a-boo appeal.
Chiffon--For glamorous girls and divas alike, the chiffon chemises are great for getting in touch with your femininity for a romantic rendezvous.
