Gisele Bündchen
From LoveToKnow Lingerie
Gisele Carolina Nonnenmacher Bundchen, the dark brown haired German-Brazilian beauty from Tresde Maio, Brazil has impressed the fashion world with her statuesque figure and striking blue eyes. Standing at 5’11’’, she stands out in a crowd. She is one of six beautiful sisters, Raquel, Gabriela, Grazida, Rafaela, and Patricia who is her fraternal twin. Growing up, young Gisele was thought too be too skinny, was teased and compared to Olive Oyl from the Popeye cartoons. Her interest in modeling began at the young age of 13, when an agent from Elite Modeling agency discovered her at a McDonalds. A couple years later, Gisele’s mom enrolled her in the Dilson Steins Mannequin course to help correct her slouching posture along with her sisters Patricia and Gabriela. Of course, mom’s plan was to get her daughters into modeling.
The launching of Gisele Bundchen’s career began in 1994. During a volleyball tournament for Sospa in Porto Alegre (she had aspirations of becoming a professional volleyball player), an Elite Modeling agent took her out of play to a beauty contest in which she finished with the five top contestants. The same year in Sao Paolo, she came in 2nd place in the National Elite “Look of the Year” contest.
By age 15, Gisele had caught “modeling fever”, and at the behest of her father moved to New York to start working in runway fashion shows. From here, her life had completely changed. America fell in love with her, modeling opportunities became plentiful, and as a result she has become one of the richest models in the world, with a personal fortune worth over 150 million dollars. Now let’s take a look at her career history.
