About Freddy Zappe

Tell me a bit about yourself and your career. How did you get started in the lingerie industry and what has your career path been like since?

I started in the lingerie industry purely by chance. I filled in for someone who was on maternity leave, and I had no intention of staying beyond the allotted time, which was three months. The company was Eveden and it’s now 12 years later. Eveden specializes in full-busted, full-figure lingerie. Because we offer cup sizes up to a JJ, and band sizes to a 56, we can fit almost every woman on the planet.

Generally women come to me in various stages of despair. They have been imprisoned in uncomfortable bras that aren’t doing them a bit of good for far too long. By making them look and feel their very best, we can help give them back their self-confidence, make them love their bodies a little more, which is all very empowering. And yes, a gorgeous, great-fitting, comfy bra can do all this!

Find Your Perfect Fit Lingerie

As with outerwear, certain lingerie styles look best on different body types. What's the perfect fit lingerie for hourglass figures? Boyish figures? Petites? Pear shapes?

Women with hourglass figures are blessed. They will look good in virtually any style. Remember to play up the waistline, and a high cut brief will make legs look like they go on forever.

A bit of molding, or slight padding in the bra will add curves to a boyish figure, and a thong will add a bit of spice.

Petites look best in demi or balcony bras with a side panel to bring the breast tissue in from the side. These women have small frames, and they don’t need to be covered from head to foot.

Pear-shaped ladies tend to be short-waisted, so it’s extremely important to lengthen the torso. If she is full-busted, the breasts need to be lifted high, to create space in the waistline. The eye should be drawn up, away from the fullness of the bottom.

Let's talk skin tone, hair color and eye color. What colors of lingerie do you feel best suit very fair skin? Medium tones? Dark skin?

Pale colors tend to wash out someone with very fair skin. They can wear pastels, with a bit of oomph to them. They look great though in deep chocolate browns and smoky grays. Medium skin tones can wear almost any color but should probably stay away from the cutesy pastels. Dark skin is enhanced by vibrant jewel colors.

How does hair color play into lingerie color choices? What colors should blondes steer clear of? Brunettes? Redheads?

Blondes should steer clear of white, brunettes can wear virtually any color, but if the hair is a light brown, it’s probably not a good idea to go too beige. Redheads shouldn’t go near orange.

However, rules are meant to be broken and with attitude and confidence, almost anyone can look fabulous in any color.

Her Thoughts

Holiday lingerie--sexy or silly--what's your vote?

Silly. This is what drunk men buy. Like a green bra and panty set with shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day.

What, in your opinion, is the sexiest lingerie a man can wear?

I love it when a man wears boxer shorts that fit beautifully: Sexy, yet elegant.

Do you have a favorite style of lingerie in general--for its sex appeal, versatility, comfort, etc?

I’m torn in two directions: I love something yummy, soft and cottony, with a bit of lace--and also perhaps a lacy cami with a low-rise boy short. Fresh and innocent, yet kind of sexy at the same time. I also love something very sophisticated in a wonderful silk, very Mata Hari. In short, anything that makes one feel like the most desirable woman in the world.

Every woman needs a little black dress. What would you say the "little black dress" of lingerie is, the perfect fit lingerie for every woman? What shouldn't a girl be without in her lingerie arsenal?
