What is a Lingerie Party?

Simply put, a lingerie party is an event themed around lingerie rather than more traditional motifs. There are two general types of parties: a themed-gift event (every gift should be some type of lingerie), and a fashion show (where different male and female models display items and guests can place orders for their favorite garments). This type of party is a great gathering for individuals who may want to experiment with sexier apparel, but who do not feel comfortable doing so through traditional shopping methods. Naturally, such racy parties are not for everyone, nor are they appropriate for every event. Lingerie parties can be unique bridal showers or birthdays for women mature enough to appreciate them.

Choosing the Guest List

Not everyone will appreciate a lingerie party, and before settling on this theme it is wise to consider who will be attending. While a bride-to-be may enjoy the event, if her bridal shower will involve her mother, grandmother, and potentially conservative relatives, the party will be more uncomfortable than celebratory. Because these types of events are so specialized, it is best to ask if they would enjoy the theme before surprising them with a potentially embarrassing situation. Duplicate items are also a concern, and gift receipts should always be included for convenience.
