Men's Footed Pajamas
From LoveToKnow Lingerie
Even the biggest boy likes to feel like a kid again sometimes, and that's part of the charm of men's footed pajamas. Yes, they can help keep you warmer on a frigid night, but they are also a lot of fun to just sit around in, whether with the whole family as part of a matching set or with your sweetheart for a laugh.
Styles of Men's Footed Pajamas
The beauty of footed pajamas is that they never change. The styles you loved (or were forced to wear, anyway) as a child are still available as an adult. Footed pajamas, also called sleepers, are nearly always one piece and either zip, snap or button up the front. They can have a drop seat, which is very funny but also practical – if it is a cold night, you really don't want to expose yourself to any more of the elements than are absolutely necessary. The feet will usually have some sort of slip guard, which can vary in effectiveness. And the pajamas themselves come in a variety of fabrics and prints.
Shopping for Adult Sleepers
Footed pajamas for men tend to be available at specialty stores designing pajamas for the whole family. While they can be worn for winter getaways in a cabin, they are really more of a novelty item than anything practical and so can be a little hard to find just anywhere. But there are a number of online shops specializing in lively pajamas and you can usually find whatever you have in mind. Of course, they can't be tried on first and it can be very difficult to get the foot size correct, but since they are mostly just for fun, an exact fit is not necessary – it's more true to the spirit of the pajamas if they are a little oversized.
Pajamas retailer Snug as a Bug has a large selection of pajamas for everyone, including plenty of men's footed pajamas. In fact, their pajamas are unisex, but you can specify sizes (they have a handy sizing chart so you can determine what you need). All the pajamas are made of a polar fleece and have a zipper front and sticky bottomed feet. They can be washed in the machine. The pajamas come in a variety of patterns and colors. If you want a plain pajama, you have the option of getting it personalized. Otherwise, you might like flames, animal prints, camouflage, Christmas plaid or any one of a number of others – there are plenty.
While there aren't quite as many choices, The Pajama Company also has men's footed pajamas in either cotton fleece or, if you want to be really toasty, wool cashmere.
Pajama City also has a number of great footy pajamas, and you can even get kangaroo pockets for extra warmth and fun. You can shop by category, such as height, fleece, waffle knit, velvet, sweatshirt, flannel or drop seat.
If you're going to wear old-fashioned pajamas, you should shop at an old-fashioned store, and there is none better than The Vermont Country Store, which specializes in all manner of things that are hard to come by these days. Their sleepers come in green plaid and are 100 percent cotton, or you can get gray fleece in cotton/poly. They button up the front and have a drop seat that also fastens by button, although it has elastic along the top to prevent gaping. While you're shopping, you can pick up out-of-print board games and hard-to-find candies to enjoy with the whole family and really set the old-fashioned mood.
Finally, there is a shop called Adult Footed PJs and yes, that's all you can get there. Some items even qualify for free shipping, so it's definitely worth a browse!.
