The children’s version show up on eBay semi-regularly, and of course there’s a Sims character of that name, but if you want adult-size punk pajamas, you will have to do some hard shopping. So long as you’re not looking for something specific, just pajamas that spell a bit of danger in the way of skulls or another image that might normally keep you awake, you can find sleepwear that rocks.
Styles of Punk Pajamas
Baby Gap made a series of adorable pajamas for your little punk rocker. They were pink and blue with skull patterns. These can often be found on eBay. For adults, sleepwear that has an edge can be harder to find. Usually, it is only a skull-patterned pajama pant that is available, and it is in a soft and cheery pink with a novelty design that leans more towards sweet than edgy. Of the skull pajamas available at Amazon, most are for children.
A search for gothic sleepwear will yield you a bit more joy, even though these aren’t really punk pajamas. Your options are t-shirts and camisoles with either a flame or creature print. You might also try a shirt or pajama featuring one of the edgier anime characters if you want to feel punkish while sleeping.
Shopping for Punk Pajamas
Since an online search for punk pajamas predominately yields the children’s wear, you’re better off searching for something gothic. Start with The Velvet Garden, which is a community site for anyone interested in a gothic look. It's also where people are buying and selling goods, so that the turnover is fast and there is always something different. You can also post a description of what you want. You never know, someone might have it and be willing to give it up.
The British site One Poster has a section for underwear and sleepwear. The pajamas tend towards pink pants with hearts, but you can get a large flame-patterned t-shirt to wear with them and add to a punk look. Transactions take place in pound sterling but the site will show approximate dollar conversions.
Sleep in Anime
It’s not exactly punk, but the character of Emily the Strange is definitely edgy and best of all, she comes in pajamas. Shop for them at Emily Strange, where you’ll find a skull pattern black and white cotton pajama set with the Emily the Strange logo embroidered in red.
Day Wear as Sleepwear
An oversized t-shirt always makes a great nightie, and you can find punk and gothic clothes at a variety of sites.
