Sheer Bra Gallery
From LoveToKnow Lingerie
Sheer bras come in all shapes, styles and sizes, as seen by our sheer bra gallery below. There are some made to be worn every day that offer support, while others are designed specifically for show and do nothing to hold your girls in place. Sheer bras can be worn alone or with other styles of matching lingerie including panties, robes or baby dolls.
A Fashion History Lesson
While some styles of brassieres have been around for centuries, they became a fashionable undergarment around 1913. At that time, it is noted that Mary Phelps Jacobs was fed up with wearing a corset and having it stick out around the collar of her dress. She took her corset and attached silk handkerchiefs and ribbon and made it so the corset looked better under clothes by "removing" its straps. Well, that got the ball rolling and within a year, the "backless brassiere" was born. This invention made the way for today's styles of bras, which include:
Now Let's Talk Sheer
Sheer bras are wonderful. They are sexy, erotic, comfortable, elegant and exotic all at the same time. If used as bedroom lingerie, they can give your partner a glimpse of what's underneath without showing off the entire package. Sheer bras are made of a variety of fabrics including:
- Microfiber
- Lace
- Satin
- Silk
- Nylon/Lycra
- Cotton
- Mesh
Sheer bras can be extremely delicate. Especially if it's underwire, your best bet would be to hand-wash the garment and let it air dry. You don't want the details on the bra cups to be distorted, nor do you want the underwire to be bent out of shape. These styles of bras can feel very soft against your skin, if the fabric is right. Some of the cheaper, sheer brassieres can irritate your breasts or make them itchy. If you want a good quality sheer bra, spend the time and money and find one that is the right style and size for you.

I wear a bra because I need the support! I prefer smooth cup sheer bras because they hide easily under clothing and I enjoy the feeling of the slippery motion against the cups as I move. It is a bit erotic! I have gynecomastia and my wife enjoys that I wear a bra! I am a B/C cup. I had a very difficult time with it at first but have become accustomed to wearing one and enjoy it! I get great Christmas Gifts every year now from My wife a few select lady friends of ours!
-- Contributed by: Wearing A BraI like the black color. It must fit my boyfriend. But sorry, I am a girl but I don't like wearing bras. My boyfriend likes it.
-- Contributed by: LusiRecent bra fashions have taken the romance & mystique out of most bras. There is a proliferation of a new smooth cup style, which may be more comfortable for women but definitely diminishes the visual appeal for that woman. I really enjoyed viewing your site for that reason :-)
