Sheer Tights for Men
From LoveToKnow Lingerie
Sheer tights for men aren't all about fetishwear. They can be used that way, but you may be surprised that they have a special function in the sports world and office life, too. And if you're a man who's been wearing women's tights, well, now you're in luck!
Sheer Tights for Men: The Uses
There are quite a few uses for men's sheer tights:
- Fetishwear: If you like tights, wear them! Nothing wrong with that. There are several Web sites that will help you find exactly what you're looking for, making the statement you want, in your dimensions (not a woman's!)
- Blood flow and circulation in the lower half of the body can be improved by wearing tights. Women, the elderly and others with circulation concerns have been doing it for years; why not normal men?
- They can give you a more sculpted appearance under your work pants.
- They can also give a more polished look to legs under shorts.
Comfilon® ACTIVSKIN®

Hints for Wearing Your Tights Well
Sheer tights for men (if you're wearing them for the way they look) require something not all men normally have: shaved legs. Opaque tights don't necessarily require them; they can cover the bumps and hairs that come with those manly calves and thighs. Sheer tights, though, for best results, will need you to whip out that razor and shaving cream. Otherwise they:
- Won't lie flat and
- You'll have unsightly bumps and hairs making their way up--and sometimes even through--the material.
Another thing you'll want to keep in mind is how to put them on. If you're used to opaque tights, or you've never worn tights, you need to know that sheer ones are more delicate.
- You can't put them on like you're pulling on a pair of blue jeans.
- Make sure your nails have no rough edges, or invest in a pair of hosiery gloves to wear when you're putting them on.
- Bunch up the material for one leg, slide your foot in (careful with the toenails, too!), and slowly extend the nylon up along your (freshly shaved and moisturized!) calf.
- Do the same with the other foot. You should be sitting down so you won't fall.
- Inch each side slowly up your thighs, one at a time, little by little. It sounds tedious, but if you become a fan of wearing sheer tights, you'll get used to it in no time.
- Take them off with the same extreme care to avoid rips.
Taking care of your sheer tights may baffle you. You may even be tempted to buy a new pair every wear or two. That's not necessary. You can wash them by hand in cool water and a gentle detergent such as Woolite.
Notice a run? No problem. Clear nail polish will stop a run in its tracks. Just trace it around the edges.
The Rundown
Whether you're wearing sheer tights because you just like to, for body sculpting, performance, or to make your legs look more appealing in shorts, you shouldn't have a hard time finding what you need online. It probably will be easiest to shop online rather than search for boutiques in most areas that offer tights for men.
If you've been wearing tights designed for women, you'll be so much happier when you discover those cut for men's legs!

Who cares if you consider it being crossdressing. Wear whatever helps and feels good.
-- Contributed by: JeffI have severe eczema and have found that wearing tights has helped enormously - they keep a level of compression on the skin that helps to calm it, and when you move they move with you, they don't rub like jeans or trousers. Plus I wear smart trousers for meetings, but they have wool content and this can irritate, so the tights also act as a barrier. Don't feel weird, feel that you are wearing clothing that helps!
-- Contributed by: SteveI wear tights nearly every day, they are very comfortable, if anyone has a problem with it then keep it to yourself, I don't have a problem with women wearing boxer shorts or boy cut trousers, why should I, there are plenty of womwn who don't and I apreciate them.
