Madison, find out if there are any modeling schools in your area. That's a good place to get some training. Sometimes there are casting calls, often in local malls. You could try there, too. Just keep your eyes open for opportunities like that to build up a portfolio. However, before you sign up for anything (and especially before you hand over any money!), do extensive research. See if they seem legitimate. See what others have to say about their experience with the company or school.

-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankeI am 13 years old . Being a model is my dream . I want to find a modeling agency now !!! Does anyone know any really good modeling agencies ? If so , email me with their weblink, please !
-- Contributed by: aliciaI'm only 14. but i love America's next top model sooo much, i can't wait until I'm 18 years old, I've always wanted to model my whole life that's all i can think about, my grades are improving just knowing that my age is permitting me to become closer and closer to my dream!, and actually right now i am trying so hard to find some model agencies, or an exhibit that they hold every once in a while for like ages 4 and up, where you can come and meet different modeling agencies. i want to be discovered :) i can't wait. and if there is anyway to help me with my search for being discovered, please help me?! Tyra your awesome.
-- Contributed by: JessicaI'm pushin 5'6...i wish it wasn't 5'7...=(
-- Contributed by: stephanieI just really wish that they would allow 17 year olds. I understand that the age requirement is just so they don't have to deal with permission from parents and the CW would hate to go through the legal trouble but they should allow 17 year olds that are gonna turn 18 ether after the auditions or during shooting, it's only fair.
-- Contributed by: jenniferHey! Im 17, 5'8 and think that the age limits are understandable thats why next year I plan on trying out for ANTM...see ya!
-- Contributed by: Sophia BrownWhy 27 and not 30?
-- Contributed by: catI'm 14 year old and modeling is my pasion since I was 8 years old,my only problem is that I'm a little short compared to the top model you have picked. I'm 5'2 and a half and I've always been told "you can't model you're to short and you're not skinny like the other girls in that show" right now I weigh 143 pounds, I don't find myself to be fat, just a little bit chubby...I was really impresed when i saw Jaslene win because I'm Purto Rican too and I study in the same high school as her brother. I just beg you to reduce a little your age limit at least 16 or 17 I really want this and I want to be America's next top model and it doesn't matter if yuo don't lower your age limit you'll still see me around I want this and i'll fight for it for as long as it takes...Bye and please lower your age limit with love Gialeyn.
-- Contributed by: Gialeyn Adornoya,i'm only 13, but so what?!! haha, you'll see me soon on whatever ads i can land, and if i have to wait till i'm 18 for the best reality show on tv, then you'll see me in 5 years!!!! remember, we are the future of the world!
-- Contributed by: soon_to_be_famousI THINK THAT THE AGE LIMIT SHOULD BE 10 AND UP TO EVEN THOUGH I WONT TO BE A FASHION DESIGNER I KNOW PEOPLE THAT WOULD DIE TO BE A MODEL SO PLEASE OPEN A YOUNGER AGE LIMIT PLEASE AND THATS
LOVE ALWAYS,

I love modeling and I hope this show is right for me. I am 12 yrs old with a little bit of modeling experience. I want America to know that they will see me on the red carpet as a "TOP MODEL"! MOdeling is my passion. I will keep on practising until I am 18. See ya in 7 yrs!
-- Contributed by: kadeishaai wish it wasnt 18 years or older. i wanna be a model and im 10 how long will da show be aroun?
-- Contributed by: aspiringmoddelWhy do you have to be a citizen of the united states? Why if it is any girls dream to become a top model an she's from a other land?
-- Contributed by: Jessicai just wanna know why it can't be made national top model or just top model.... the reason for thinking like this is im a south african gal and the modeling agencies over here is so out dated and its not as interesting as the over seas agencies and for gals like me that had a bad experience with s.a agencies the whole dream just collapsed.... why don't you consider taking in models from all over the world.... anyways it was just a thought that i had after i read on the website that u have to be a american citizen otherwise u can't enter....
