-- Contributed by: hiGirls should wear bra after 20.
-- Contributed by: Kareneteen bra should soft and no so tight so that breast should devloped properly
-- Contributed by: rafaelAnonymous, though there's a debate about the effects of underwire, it hasn't been proven that they're unhealthy except in the case of nursing bras. Some people only feel comfortable with underwire bras when it comes to support and wear them all the time without problems.
I'm not sure what your bra budget is like, but Victoria's Secret has quite a few cute styles without wire. The Ipex is a good "practical but pretty" bra that is available in sizes up to 38D.
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankeJen, a bra with light padding could be just what she needs to prevent any embarrassing moments when it's cold. Check some of the teen clothing stores in the mall for bras, or look in your local Walmart, Target, etc, for bras in her size.
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankeThis is not a first bra query but rather a question on teenagers with a bigger bust wearing under wire bra's. I heard this is not healthy for the delicate tissue, is this correct or not? I;m having a hard time trying to find non underwire bra's that don't look like "Granny's" ones. Please advise.
-- Contributed by: anonymousI am having a hard time finding a bra for my daughter. She needs a 38 a or aa depending on the padding. Shes embaressed when its cold out... any suggestions
-- Contributed by: jenthanks so much crystal, thats really helped. xx
-- Contributed by: SophieSophie--just relax! :) Seriously, the best thing you can do is embrace what you have. Wear the correct size, the correct style (even if it means a sports bra for PE), and be confident.
If your small chest still bothers you, there are bras out there designed to make your breasts look larger. Look for bras with extra padding in the cups.
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankeAllegra, if you feel that you need to wear a bra, then talk to your parent or guardian about purchasing one. Don't worry about what anyone else says.
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankehi, my boobs arent tiny i mean i do need a bra and all but every one keeps saying i am flat chested and i don't need a bra! it's so infuriating! i wish they would just mind there own business for once! can you please help me?
-- Contributed by: Allegrahi, am always really embarrassed, all my best friends have really big boobs but mine are tiny. its really embarrassing cos when we went shopping they got measured and the had huge boobs, bigger than they thought, and i mean c and d cup. i no i'll catch up 2 them eventually but its still horrible. also my p.e teacher says we should be wearing sports bra's for p.e now, but i'm scared that my boobs will look really tiny and every1 will make fun of me. please help i need advice!! xx
-- Contributed by: SophieTianna, department stores and even stores like Wal-Mart, Target, etc, tend to have smaller sizes. It's best to try the bra on before you buy it so that you're sure of your size and know that the bra is comfortable. Not all bras of the same size fit exactly the same way.
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankehey im tianna me and my mum have a hard time talking to each other about bras and puberty and stuff but i need a bra i've measured myself but im an AA or an A cup but most bra shops online only have B to D sizes wat can i do???
-- Contributed by: tiannaSteph, if you need sizing help, you will be able to get someone to measure you at a department store or a lingerie store like Victoria's Secret.
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankehey iam steph ...uh me and my mum arent close at all and ikinda need a bra...but i dont know any of my sizing...help??
-- Contributed by: stephThanks for the info, Meghan. :)
-- Contributed by: CrystalSchwankeI just wanted to say I don't think you should put that most girls get their first bras at 11-13 because if you talk to girls this age they won't say they just staRTED wearing bras. Usually girls start wearing training bras at 9-11. Just wanted 2 inform you. I would say that girls start wearing like a girls A-cup at 12-13. Thanks for your time.
-- Contributed by: Meghanhey justin. im 11 and u shud have ur teen talk to one of her aunts or mayb an older cousin. she can look on the internet to see how to size herself. many department stores have employees that have been trained to size teens so she can also do that. since shes an older teen she should go to the mall with friends or mayb with a cousin and she can pick a bra out there to feel more comfertable. i hope this info works!!

-- Contributed by: safiI remember when I started 5th grade. Almost overnight I had developed full breasts. I was really embarrassed as I was the only one in my class like this. Some of the other girls had small developments, but I felt like the cow. I remember some girls being picked on for having small chests but I really believe it was just a way of trying to "push their button". If you react to it at all they'll just keep doing it more. I know its hard but, just ignore it. I dont know why, but my mom didnt buy me a bra until 6th grade. It may have been because it was on the PE supply sheets of what I needed (like deodorant). I think parents just get caught up with day to day things and just dont notice when the girl is developing. Or maybe they think they'll embarrass her by asking and that they should wait for the girl to ask. Its really harder for the kid to bring up the subject, but sometimes thats the only way. THe bigger you get, the more it hurts to run around in gym class when you're bouncing. You could ask your parent 'is that normal?" maybe at that point they'll be smart enough to get you one. If not, you are going to have to come out and say it. (embarrassing, but a good life lesson in standing up and asking for things) I think a good guideline to go by is once a girl starts developing anything to buy a bra. If a quarter of your classmates have them, you should to (unless you dont want one). Does'nt hurt to be ready as they seem to like to come in overnight. BTW...dad who is still giving his girls a bath...you gotta stop that..nobody past 8 needs a parent giving them a bath (unless they're handicapped)...its kinda creepy...sure you dont mean anything bad (or you would'nt tell us about the baths online). run all 3 of them to the store and get them each a bra. even the 11 yr old. If she feels funny about it, tell her its for when SHE is ready to wear it. (she'll probably be wearing it within a few days)
-- Contributed by: Angelai am 11 nd sum 10 a bras r too small for me i have Bigger boobs than my cousin nd she is 15 but my mum is still keeping me in mostly kids bras! what should i do? please help me!
-- Contributed by: ashleighMarie and Beth,
Just ask! Your mom understands, trust us. It seems like a big deal to ask, but it's not. Really. She'll probably enjoy sharing a girls' day out with you while you shop for bras.

-- Contributed by: ccI am only elleven and i feel like i need a bra because if i just wear a camisole under shirts, it feels like you can see too much. i want to ask my mom if we can go bra shopping but i don't know how.
-- Contributed by: nobodywb, there's nothing more beautiful than confidence. I know it's hard to listen to now, but the best thing you can do for yourself is ignore your friends' teasing and appreciate your body as-is. The primary reason for teasing is jealousy, so your friends probably wish they looked a little more like you. Things will get better with time. In the meantime, focus your energy on the things that please you most--sports, books, movies, whatever. Don't wear yourself out worrying about what they're saying.
What you can do to deflect the teasing as much as possible: Have someone take you to buy a bra that is close to your skin tone so that it's barely detectable under your clothes. That way you won't draw extra attention to your breasts and invite the comments, at least.

-- Contributed by: BecIf you don't know how to ask if you can get a bra, don't directly say it, drop hints. Such as "Mom, my chest is getting bigger what should I do?" or go to the mall and purposely try on a very tight see through shirt while with your mom. It's best just to say it out front, thats what happened with my first bra.
-- Contributed by: MimiMy mum said that i should wear a bra when im 17...But i really want a bra
-- Contributed by: Lucyi am 14 yrs old and i have not yet got a bra how can i ask mum if i can wear a bra without asking "can i have a bra or i need a bra can i hav one?"
-- Contributed by: angelcaitlin, if your mom won't buy you one you should ask why? if you've already tried this, the best thing for you to do would be to take another look at yourself. Ask yourself questions like, "Am I even ready for one yet?" If you believe you are, talk to your mom about it. It could be because of religious issues, money problems, or a lot of other things.
